What are Formentera Gastronomic Weeks?
The Gastronomic Weeks are two weeks of culinary events organized by PIMEF and the Consell de Formentera. Over fourteen days twenty six restaurants across the island will be taking part, each putting together a special menu for the occasion.
It’s a simple and generous idea: invite residents and visitors to discover the island’s cuisine in the quieter season, with dishes that celebrate local produce and the way Formentera cooks when it has time to do things properly.
Special menu at €28 per person
Each participating restaurant offers a special menu at a set price of €28 per person. Drinks are not included so you are free to choose your wine, your water or your cocktail and build the meal exactly how you like.
For many restaurants it’s an opportunity to show off your creative chops within a set format, and for diners it’s an easy way to try places they might not have gone to before. A fixed price also means easy planning: you know what the bulk of the bill will be before you sit down.
Why you should eat in Formentera in autumn
October on the island has its pleasures. Terraces are quieter, service more relaxed and conversations at the table last longer. Lunch can stretch into the afternoon and dinner can be enjoyed without a full house to rush you.

The Gastronomic Weeks are not only about eating well but participation game with a prize. At each participating restaurant you will find a QR code on the table to rate the menu you have just tasted. Each diner has a vote. Scan the code, rate the menu, and upload a photo of your receipt.
Vote in at least two different restaurants and you’re in with a chance of winning a €500 prize. In practice this means that you only need to enjoy two meals in the two weeks to be eligible to participate.
Getting the Most Out of the Event
Early planning for your two restaurants. You need votes at two different places for the draw, so pre-select and try to mix different styles – a seafront restaurant and a more traditional one inland, for example.
Check the days they serve. The restaurant does not serve the special menu every day during the event. They all have their days so check before you go.
Book a table. Popular restaurants can be packed even in the quieter season, especially at weekends. A quick booking prevents disappointment.
Save your receipt. You’ll have to upload a photo of it when you vote, so don’t throw it away at the end of the meal.
Don’t hurry. The spirit of the event is to enjoy the table without rush. Order slowly, share and take the time the meal needs.
