Cinema a la Fresca 2026 – Open-air cinema in Formentera
When summer arrives, Formentera turns into one big open-air cinema. Every year, Cinema a la Fresca brings the big screen to the squares and gardens of the island, offering evenings of films in their original version with Spanish subtitles, under the stars and with the Mediterranean breeze.
The 2026 edition runs through June and July, with screenings at three different locations across the island, always at 10:00 PM. Free admission, open to everyone. Organised by the Consell Insular de Formentera, with the collaboration of Casa del Poble and Ràdio Illa.
The three venues
Screenings are spread across three emblematic spots on the island, each with its own fixed night of the week:
- Sant Francesc – Jardí de ses Eres: every Tuesday at 10:00 PM
- Sant Ferran – Plaça de l’Església: every Thursday at 10:00 PM
- La Mola – Casa del Poble: every Friday at 10:00 PM

Useful information
All screenings are in their original version with Spanish subtitles. Admission is free. Some venues provide chairs, but bringing something to sit on is always a good idea. Screenings begin at 10:00 PM sharp — arriving a few minutes early is recommended.
Cinema a la Fresca is one of those events that turn a summer stay in Formentera into something more than a simple holiday: art house cinema in the open air, and the island community gathered around a screen under the summer sky.
