The autumn season has arrived, and Formentera has regained its attractiveness, creating a one-of-a-kind and memorable environment. It is precisely at this time of year that visitors can fully appreciate the island’s calm pace while seeing its wonders.
There will be the option to experience spectacular sunsets on the beach at one of the eight new chiringuitos, which will remain open on weekends for the next few months. Each with a different personality, they symbolise the spirit of Formentera: gathering places where, after sunset, you may be taken away by the rhythm of the music while sipping great drinks or savouring delectable gastronomic delights. Places to experience the most real aspect of the island.
In mid-July, Formentera opened eight new eco-friendly chiringuitos, unchanged in appearance but created with ecological materials and certified wood, in accordance with stricter beach concession laws and a rising embrace of green techniques. The new kiosks, which are a must-see and a point of reference for visitors to the island, are scattered along the coast – 5 in Mitjorn, 1 in Cala Saona, 2 in Es Pujols – and include photovoltaic panels, a small electricity generator, and a discharge control system to prevent them from flowing into the sea.
